Der Titel des Films ist abgeleitet von dem Bild VERTIGE, L‘ ESCALIER MAGIQUE
(De Duizeling, SCHWINDEL, DIE ZAUBERTREPPE,1908) des belgischen
Malers Leon Spilliaert (1881-1946). Einige Bilder von Spilliaert dienten auch
als bildliche Skizzierungen für den Film.

In der Abbildung des Alltäglichen verbirgt sich
auch immer etwas Geheimnisvolles.

Die Assoziationskette GEWISSHEIT TOD SCHLUSS nimmt Bezug
auf die Hölle und das Fegefeuer aus Dantes Göttliche Komödie.

The title of the film is derived from the picture VERTIGE,
L‘ ESCALIER MAGIQUE (De Duizeling, THE MAGIC STAIRCASE, 1908)
of the Belgium painter Leon Spilliaert (1881-1946).
Some of Spilliaert’s images also served as pictorial sketches for the film.

There is always something mysterious
hidden in the depiction of everyday life.

The chain of associations CERTAINTY DEATH ENDING refers to hell
and purgatory from Dante’s Divine Comedy.
